- Add a valid credit card to your account
- Click "Follow" on the profile you wish to subscribe to
- Clicking "Follow" will charge your credit card or Wallet Credits
- Clicking "Follow" on a free account will not charge your credit card or Wallet Credits

Visit your "Following" page to see all of your active and inactive subscriptions. You can unsubscribe if you would like to hide that Creator’s posts from your Feed (unsubscribing does not refund your purchase).

Therefore those chats where no payments (PPV) made but tipped only - will disappear after expiration also.
Discounted and promotional subscriptions
Creators can offer various discounts to their Users:
- Free trial subscriptions - the Creator has set the discount to a 100% discount for the first billing period. In order for the subscription to renew, the User must sign up for the subscription. It will not auto-renew by default unless the User confirms that they want to renew for the subscription price.
- Discounted subscriptions - the Creator has a profile promotion campaign. A creator can set a discount for their monthly subscription. Once the promotional billing period has ended, the subscriptions are set to auto-renew by default. The discounted price is eligible for the first billing period only.
In either case, once the billing period with the promotional amount is over, the subscription price reverts to the full price subscription.

Value Added Tax
What is Value Added Tax (EU/UK VAT?)
Value Added Tax is a consumption tax added to the value of goods or services purchased in the European Union and United Kingdom. The specific rate of tax varies by country. As the name suggests, the tax is added to the price of the product or service at the time of purchase and paid directly to the relevant tax authority.
Lemon Social is adding VAT to purchases?
Due to a recent interpretation of an EU law by HMRC. All VAT collected from Users is paid directly to the relevant tax authorities. Users resident in countries within the UK/EU.
What has changed exactly?
Lemon Social now collects VAT on sales to the UK/EU based on User location and passes this directly on to the relevant tax authority. The cost of any interaction with Creators is therefore increasing, with the amount payable determined by the country where the purchase takes place. Lemon Social then pays this sum directly to the relevant tax authority, in full.
When are these changes effective?
Do all users have to pay VAT?
Any purchase by a User resident in a country which charges VAT will be subject to the local rate.
Does VAT apply to all content on Lemon Social?
VAT is applied to any payment for Creator interaction by a User resident in a country which charges VAT.
How does Lemon Social handle VAT?
All VAT collected by Lemon Social is paid directly to the relevant tax authority, in full.
Why has the price of my subscription gone up?
The price of subscriptions can change from time to time depending on the Creator.
The rate of VAT levied by governments also changes from time to time and may be a factor in the event that we have to make changes to pricing in the future.
Are tips also liable for VAT?
To ensure complete adherence with regulations, at the current time Lemon Social’ policy is to collect VAT on all payments made on its sites by a User resident in a country which charges VAT.
We keep all of our payment methods and policies under review and will advise if this changes.
How can I find out how much VAT I pay?
If you are a User in a country where VAT is applicable, you will see an additional line item when making your purchase.
We list the amount of VAT added to applicable payments in your Account. The following table provides the VAT rate that each country requires (this list is not exhaustive and is correct at as of 1 January 2022)

USA Sales Tax
USA Sales Tax Information
Please note: This notice covers our sales tax requirements on User payments from within the USA. If you are a User located in the EU, see this help topic for the application of VAT to your payments.
Lemon Social will add sales tax to some User Payments made in the USA.
Recently, many states have passed laws that require “online marketplaces” to apply sales tax to transactions. Originally aimed at larger streaming services, the way these laws were written and the way they are being interpreted means that they are impacting many different types of companies, including Lemon Social.
Whether or not sales tax is applied to your User Payment depends on where you are located and the type of Payment being made. Not all states require sales tax to be charged on transactions, and not all Payment types will be taxable.
If Sales tax is charged in your location, you will see an additional line item on your receipt for sales tax. Each state which requires Sales Tax to be charged will apply their own rate. The Sales Tax collected by Lemon Social will be paid directly to your local government.
Why is Sales Tax being applied to online content?
Some US States are including digital content (both downloadable and streamed) within the definition of a taxable item.
Will tips be affected?
In many states, a payment of a Tip to a creator is not considered taxable. Other Payment types (Subscriptions/Messages/Streaming) are linked to digital content and are included in the definition of taxable goods.
How much will I be charged in Sales Tax?
The Sales Tax Rate depends on the state a User is located. The digital content rates range between 4% - 11%. Lemon Social partners with sales tax experts to ensure the rates being charged are accurate and up-to-date for each particular locality.
If my state doesn’t charge tax, could this change?
Yes. Tax on digital content is steadily being implemented globally and it is likely that states which currently do not charge tax on digital content, will commence doing so in the future. Lemon Social will constantly review rate changes and keep our Users updated.

Australia GST
Please note: This notice covers our sales tax (GST) requirements on payments made by Users based in Australia. If you are a User based outside of Australia please check the help topics for any sales tax charges specific to your country.
Recently many countries have passed laws that require “online marketplaces” to apply sales tax to transactions. Originally aimed at larger streaming services, the way these laws were written and the way they are being interpreted means that they are impacting many different types of companies, including Lemon Social.
Lemon Social will add GST to some Australian User Payments.
If GST is charged on your payment, you will see an additional line item on your receipt for GST.The GST collected by Lemon Social will be paid directly to your local government. There are no additional charges on this element of the payment.
Why is GST being applied to online content?
Australian law applies GST to any payment made in connection with ‘any form of supply whatsoever’, this includes digital content.
What payments will be affected?
Payments made by Australian Users to Australian Content Creators will NOT have GST applied to them. Only payments made by Australian Users to Content Creators based outside of Australia will have GST applied, depending on the type of transaction.
Under Australian law, GST would not apply to any payment made that is NOT in connection with a supply of anything. In other words, gratuitous tips paid by an Australian User to Content Creators based outside Australia will NOT have GST applied.
How much will I be charged in GST?
If your payment is subject to GST, it will be charged at 10%.
